Specialty Packaging for Success

An aerospace and defense company was notified that the adhesive product they use on their production line was only available in a 55-gallon drum. Downpacking the product in-house into the desired dispensing amounts would’ve been a timely and expensive process, as that was not the company’s core skill set – it would have inevitably delayed their production line, increased waste, and created inconsistencies. The customer was also challenged with maintaining shelf life and the physical properties of its specialty chemicals.

This aerospace company enlisted GracoRoberts’ specialty packaging services to repack product into 4 oz kits, and seal and label each bottle as required. Our in-house chemist recommended nitrogen-purging the bottles before, during, and after the product was filled into the kit to preserve maximum shelf life. As a last step in the consultation process, GracoRoberts’ team worked with the aerospace company and product manufacturer to facilitate the addition of blue dye to the product material, making the application process easier and more efficient for our customer.
