Selecting "Manufacturers Certification" will not lead to the correct paperwork being supplied as standard OEM certification is not available for this product.
GracoRoberts supplies composite tooling materials for the manufacture of moulds, master patterns, and production tooling used in aerospace, defence, UAV, and advanced industrial composite manufacturing. Tooling quality directly affects part quality, dimensional consistency, and production efficiency across the life of a programme.
Our portfolio includes epoxy tooling boards, tooling prepregs, RTV casting compounds, mould release agents, and tooling surface coatings from leading manufacturers. Products are selected for dimensional stability, high-temperature performance, and surface quality to support repeated production cycles.
For process materials used during layup and cure on tooling, see our process materials page.
Machinable epoxy tooling boards for CNC-machined composite moulds, master patterns, and checking fixtures. Epoxy boards offer dimensional stability, low porosity, and consistent surface quality. Products include SikaBlock M974 epoxy tooling boards available in a range of thicknesses.
Epoxy tooling prepregs for producing composite moulds with a controlled coefficient of thermal expansion matched to the part material. Used where autoclave-cured composite tooling is required for high-temperature cure cycles or tight dimensional tolerances. Products include Airtech TMFP 3100 epoxy tooling prepreg.
Room-temperature-vulcanising silicone casting compounds for flexible moulds, mandrels, and tooling inserts. Used where complex geometry, undercuts, or thermal cycling require a compliant tooling material. Products include Airtech Aircast 3700 A/B RTV casting compound and Airtech Airpad tooling rubber.
Chemical release agents applied to tooling surfaces prior to layup to prevent part adhesion and facilitate clean demoulding. Available in semi-permanent and sacrificial formulations for composite, metal, and epoxy board tooling surfaces. Products include Chemlease and Renlease series.
Epoxy surface coat systems for producing high-quality mould surfaces with the hardness, smoothness, and chemical resistance required for repeated production use. Products include Airtech TMSFR 5100A/5100B surface coat kits and Sika ES-215 epoxy surface coat.
Epoxy tooling boards provide the machinability, dimensional stability, and surface quality required for CNC-machined composite moulds used in prepreg layup and infusion processes. Board selection depends on cure temperature, part complexity, and required tool life.
Tooling prepregs matched to the part laminate material reduce differential thermal expansion during autoclave cure, improving dimensional accuracy and reducing residual stress in the finished part.
RTV silicone casting compounds and tooling rubbers produce flexible tools for internally cured composite structures, over-braided components, and parts with complex geometry that cannot be demoulded from rigid tooling.
Semi-permanent release systems and durable surface coats extend tool life in high-volume production, reducing maintenance cycles and improving surface quality consistency across large production runs.
Our tooling materials work alongside our prepregs and process materials to support a complete composite manufacturing workflow from tool preparation through part cure and demould.
For custom epoxy systems developed specifically for tooling applications, the Resin Formulators page covers custom formulation services including syntactic systems and high-temperature epoxy compounds used in tooling and potting applications.
Tooling material selection depends on cure temperature, number of production cycles, part complexity, and whether autoclave or out-of-autoclave processing is used. We advise on material selection, surface coat application, and release system compatibility at the tooling design stage to avoid costly tool failures during production.
RTV and epoxy tooling materials are available in kit formats with hardener and mixing guidance included. Surface coat systems require careful surface preparation and application conditions for optimal results.
We support qualification workflows for composite tooling materials, including lot traceability, shelf life management, and certificates on request where applicable. Our team can advise on tooling material selection, cure cycle requirements, and release system compatibility for specific programme tooling requirements.

We supply SikaBlock M974 epoxy tooling boards in a range of thicknesses for CNC-machined composite moulds, master patterns, and checking fixtures. SikaBlock M974 offers dimensional stability, low porosity, and consistent surface quality suited to repeated production use.
Tooling prepregs are formulated with a resin system and fiber architecture optimized for producing composite molds rather than structural parts. Key differences include a coefficient of thermal expansion matched to the part material, high surface hardness and quality, and resistance to repeated autoclave cycle conditions. Standard structural prepregs are not optimized for these requirements.
RTV silicone tools are best suited to parts with complex geometry, internal cavities, or undercuts that cannot be demoulded from a rigid tool. Rigid composite or epoxy board tools are preferred for high-volume production where dimensional consistency and surface quality repeatability are priorities.
