Product Information
Blended with an ashless anti-corrosion additive package and highly refined petroleum base oils, ROYCO 483 protects the engine by minimizing the effects of humidity and neutralizing the acidic components of engine oil oxidation and combustion by products. It is primarily used as a preservation grade engine oil for the internal preservation of turbojet engines or engine parts and accessories during moderate outdoor to long term indoor storage periods. This oil may also serve as a temporary "flyaway" oil, though operation of engines preserved with the diluted material should be limited. For preservation, the engine is filled to normal capacity with ROYCO 483 and then run at idle until reaching normal operating temperature (approximately 10–15 minutes). Upon shutdown the engine is now fully protected from interior rust and corrosion.
